Launching dan BookTalks: “Lintasan Cahaya Asia 20 TH” & “Garin Nugroho Made In Indonesia”

As part of the celebration of two decades of the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF), this program presents the launch of two significant publications: Lintasan Cahaya Asia: JAFF 20 Years and Garin: Made in Indonesia. Lintasan Cahaya Asia traces JAFF’s journey from a community-based initiative to one of Asia’s most influential film festivals. Through reflections from its founders, scholarly analysis, and creative interpretation of photographic archives, the book offers a vivid portrayal of the festival’s dynamic position between community and industry, the local and the global.

Meanwhile, Garin: Made in Indonesia explores the long and groundbreaking career of Garin Nugroho, a central figure of Indonesia’s “New Wave” cinema. The book highlights not only his artistic achievements but also his role as an educator and mentor who has inspired a new generation of Indonesian filmmakers. Together, these books stand as living archives illuminating the evolving dialogue between community, culture, and cinema in Indonesia and across Asia.
